Coaches Bio

Coach Jamie began his competitive soccer career in the youth ranks with The Bluewater Boys Soccer Club. At 14, he was a member of the Ontario Provincial team and continued to excel with the Bluewater Club rising to the mens premier ranks at a young age. Jamie was then recruited by several american colleges but decided to stay in Canada and attended the University of Cape Breton, where he starred for the men's varsity soccer team. After completing his education, he returned to Sarnia to give back to the soccer community. Jamie began coaching with his then club Bluewater at the Under 11 age group where his team finished second to the national champions. Since then, he has coached many young successful teams to LDYSL and WOYSL success. Many of coach Jamie's former players have went on to play at the NCAA level or CIS in Canada.

Coach Ali started her soccer career with the Sarnia Girls Soccer Club from 1996-2005 and competed in the OYSL. In 2006, Coach Ali began her varsity career with the University of Brock Badgers where she was an instrumental player in helping the school capture the Ontario Championship and also received a silver medal at the CIS National Championships. Her stellar university career also included a few Ontario All Star selections as one of the most talented players in the province and she also received the Most Valuable Player Award for her Brock Badger team. During her university career, Coach Ali played her summer soccer with the Windsor Caboto Soccer Club where she collected a few league championships and the coveted Ontario Futsal Championship. Coach Ali also attained a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University in 2012 and is currently working as a Resource Teacher in the Lambton Kent District School Board. Coach Ali currently plays soccer for the Sarnia City Women’s Soccer Team and has coached with the Academy since August 2012.

Coach Alex began his competitive soccer career with The Bluewater Boys Soccer Club from age 8 to 14. He then moved on to the Sarnia Boys Soccer Club from U14-U16. Highest level of competition was U16 L3 in the WOYSL Division. He then made his Sarnia Fury Senior Men’s debut at age 16 until age 19. Coach Alex also has 2 OFSAA silver medals in basketball and soccer, and an OFSAA gold medal for soccer in his final year of high school. Coach Alex was recruited by several NCAA division 1 and 2 schools to obtain a soccer scholarship. He eventually chose Canisius College NCAA Division 1 in Buffalo, New York. After his impressive first season at Canisius, Coach Alex received an allstar nomination to the All Conference Rookie Team. Alex played for Coach Jamie and Coach Brian in his final year of Sarnia Fury Men’s, and assisted them with the Sarnia FC Skills that Kills program in the summer of 2011. In the summer, Coach Alex plays for the defending USL Championship team, FC London, who play in the Professional Development League.

Coach Devon joins us after completing a 4 year soccer/academic scholarship at Indiana University. She brings with her, expertise in strength and conditioning and immense experience at one of the highset levels in US womens soccer. Devon began her coaching career early when she became a student assistant coach with the IU womens squad after her playing days. Devon is also a great player with a high standard technical ability and precision passing skills. Devon is 10th on the alltime scoring list at IU and has the 6th most appearences of any IU athlete!! Devon is a great assest to our program and will get better as she completes her coaching education pathway. Devon currently holds Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train, Soccer 4 Life certifications. Devon has also completed Respect in Soccer, Making Ethical Decisions, Making Headway and the Game Leader course all provided by the OSA
